The unit I had was a test unit and not full production (apparently that
run is now on the way). The setup was really easy although I did think
some of the UI was not as intuitive as it could be and fed that back to
them accordingly. I used both the direct ethernet and the powerline and
had no problems with either. It picked up all the computers on the
network so it took a while to import the libraries for the first setup
(metadata only, not music as that streams from the source computer) but
after that it was really quick. There's a good function to filter the
libraries to exclude all my daughter's music just for my login and my
music from her login. The sound was great indeed, without wanting to
blow smoke, pretty amazing. I was paying mostly 320 mp3 and flac.
Didn't get a chance to test the 24 bit myself but I have heard that
running when I picked the unit up and there's no question 24/96 is
working well (they said they're testing 24/192 and higher but unlikely
that will be available at launch).

Come on Logitech - release an updated Receiver!!!

I've been testing one of these Simple Audio units and any artwork type
with any name along with the tracks will work. Looks like the example
they gave was just that, an example and not an absolute rule. Lovely
units but I would say addressing a different market to Logotech.

Well a bit early to comment on the price when its not known what
quality fx the dac has. I also like that you use a powercord not some
external power supply and even use it as wirenetwork - nice. It also
does hirez and it dont need some special software on the nas. I am not
in it for the constant updating bussines rather for the music. Very
interesting to see how well the UI is seems to be a big challange for
newcomers.

I think the one unit solution match fine with their name Simple Audio,
but its not fine or simple if you as a buyer/user has to go into
details like that, the album art thing, thats simple in a bad way -
though I guess a batch job would work fine.

I think it's great to see some competition, it just means that if
Logitech plans to stay in this business they need to invest more to
continue to stay ahead of the competitors. In most cases competition is
good for the end users, it usually means that we get more options and
lower prices in the end.

At those prices they better work very well. And you've got to wonder
about the quality of an amp that adds only £50 to the price.

Squeezebox is a much more open and mature product, why buy something
from a company that may no longer be in existence. If squeezebox is not
working than buy a Sony etc. there are many media streamers from both
main stream and boutique bands. Even the networking companies like
Cisco are getting in the act.

Hiya Michael,

Nothing really wrong per se, but I do categorize it as a negative for
just that reason, it is the same as what we have now. Seems more and
more stations are dropping RadioTime (TuneIn) and going to other stream
aggregators like IheartRadio and others. Often the workaround to
RadioTime stream issues (or outright absence of that stream even being
offered) is to find their competitors URL to get the stations to play.

Any chance of having a IheartRadio or StreamTheWorld or similar App to
get back a simple menu structure for the stations not offered on
RadioTime?
