Station dropping off "Tune-in" is normal. Stations sign up to consolidators/ broadcaster who offer "value added services". After a time the station may move to a different consolidator/ broadcaster. For many station the aim is to ensure users should listen to the internet stream via app or web page player so that additional ad revenue can be gathered and as such they make it has hard as possible to get the playable URL - some make the streams nearly unplayable except through their own web/app player. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112911 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Tunein Radio Stations
One of the nice things when streaming a radio station via Tunein is that you would get the station logo displayed on your SB devices, making the whole system experience feel more "integrated". So with the demise of international stations on Tunein whilst it is possible (in most cases) to access the stations directly if you can find the relevant URL, the problem is you won't have a station logo displayed. I have tried in the past to edit the favorites OPML file to point to a local artwork file but have never managed to get it working. Can anybody help with how to do this - if indeed it is possible? Potentially this is linked to UK rights of authors / singers and how they are reimbursed. There was a similar case for Germany and youtube, when many artists' songs / music videos were not available in Germany. Maybe a simple workaround could work for you. Try to add this link to your favourites, maybe you can still access the tunein directory: http://opml.radiotime.com/Browse.ashx?id=r0 (for locations directories) http://opml.radiotime.com/Browse.ashx?c=music (for music styles). That was a backup for Tunein I added to my local favorites when I feared that Logitech kills the cloud and when no local plugin was available long time ago - it still works frankd's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=52885 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112911 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Tunein Radio Stations
Thanks all for your help. I enquired with Tunein as to why my international stations no longer worked, I got this disappointing response -Hello, Thank you for contacting us. Due to a court ruling in the United Kingdom, we will be restricting international stations to prohibit their availability in the UK, with limited exceptions. We apologize for the inconvenience. staresy wrote: > VoB is listed on radionet but it won't play (it has never played even > before the tunein feeds stopped playing). Just checked - Radio.net seems to be showing the "old " VOB URL. I think Radio.net is different to Tune-in. My gut feeling is that Radio.net puts up a some stations whose URLs have been found rather than Radio.net been paid in order to have many stations in its directory. Problem with this is some entries become out of date. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112911 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I used their web-based player and then watched to see which URLs is launched when the player started (built-in browser developer tools) - then I reduced that URL by removing things from the end while verifying that it still worked in LMS.
