Station dropping off "Tune-in" is normal. Stations sign up to
consolidators/ broadcaster who offer "value added services". After a
time the station may move to a different consolidator/ broadcaster.
For many station the aim is to ensure users should listen to the
internet stream via app or web page player so that additional ad revenue
can be gathered and as such they make it has hard as possible to get the
playable URL - some make the streams nearly unplayable except through
their own web/app player.

I don't know, but Cadena SER Madrid also stopped working for me, and I
can no longer browse any TuneIn stations apart from those in the UK,
Germany, & Cyprus. If anyone does find a way to replace the TuneIn
functionality, I'd be very interested--I've just had to grab a stream
URL off the webpage radio player, and have no idea how long that will
work.

Probably best for that discussion to continue over on your other thread

One of the nice things when streaming a radio station via Tunein is that
you would get the station logo displayed on your SB devices, making the
whole system experience
feel more "integrated".

So with the demise of international stations on Tunein whilst it is
possible (in most cases) to access the stations directly if you can find
the relevant URL, the problem is you won't have a station logo
displayed. I have tried in the past to edit the favorites OPML file to
point to a local artwork file but have never managed to get it working.

Can anybody help with how to do this - if indeed it is possible?

Thanks

I think this may be a distraction wrt VOB. It looks like VOB changed
"broadcaster" and it is possible that VOB has signed a new deal with a
different platforms and decided to go with WideOrbit
(https://www.wideorbit.com/) who run wostreaming.net rather than
Tune-in. This

The ruling was this
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-11-01/tunein-loses-u-k-lawsuit-for-streaming-unlicensed-music

IIRC Many station (inc BBC) dropped off Tune-in a couple of months ago
and then some came back on again as agreements were made.

edit:

This post has a more UK viewpoint

Do you know the court ruling?
Potentially this is linked to UK rights of authors / singers and how
they are reimbursed. There was a similar case for Germany and youtube,
when many artists' songs / music videos were not available in Germany.

Maybe a simple workaround could work for you.
Try to add this link to your favourites, maybe you can still access the
tunein directory:
http://opml.radiotime.com/Browse.ashx?id=r0 (for locations directories)
http://opml.radiotime.com/Browse.ashx?c=music (for music styles).

That was a backup for Tunein I added to my local favorites when I feared
that Logitech kills the cloud and when no local plugin was available
long time ago - it still works

Thanks all for your help.

I enquired with Tunein as to why my international stations no longer
worked, I got this disappointing response

-Hello,

Thank you for contacting us. Due to a court ruling in the United
Kingdom, we will be restricting international stations to prohibit
their availability in the UK, with limited exceptions. We apologize for
the inconvenience.

Sincerely-

If this is true and it persists, Tunein will have a limited use case
going forward.

Shame

Just checked - Radio.net seems to be showing the "old " VOB URL. I
think Radio.net is different to Tune-in. My gut feeling is that
Radio.net puts up a some stations whose URLs have been found rather than
Radio.net been paid in order to have many stations in its directory.
Problem with this is some entries become out of date.

before the tunein feeds stopped playing).

I used their web-based player and then watched to see which URLs is
launched when the player started (built-in browser developer tools) -
then I reduced that URL by removing things from the end while verifying
that it still worked in LMS.

Cheers Paul,
That URL does indeed work, no need to install any plugins.

No secrecy. Triode's BBCiPlayer from that repository are available as
standard LMS plugin - so no repository entry is needed but the plugin is
out of date and there are forum thread (one used to be a sticky for
about 1.5years) detailing how to add relevant patches.
My updated plugins have multilple threads on the forum.

That'll give you an updated version of the BBCiPlayer plugin but other
Triode plugins and applets are hosted elsewhere.
