Re: [pfSense-discussion] atmel avr port of pfsense?
I may take a look into this I haven't touched net in a while and could use this as a good excuse to On 7/31/07, Scott Ullrich <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > On 7/31/07, [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Most of the steps should be the same for NetBSD as they are for FreeBSD > since they share a lot of commonalities. > > Not quite. Good luck porting pfSense to Net! :) Scott Most of the steps should be the same for NetBSD as they are for FreeBSD since they share a lot of commonalities. I don't really have a lot of time to put into this because I'm busy with my FreeBSD pkg_install SoC project and work, but I'll add this to my wish list later on down the line.. -Garrett

It won't run m0n0wall either. It may run FreeBSD though if it's MIPs compatible, but I haven't checked out the FreeBSD MIPS port yet.. This looks like a job for NetBSD! -Garrett

Hi, take a look at http://www.pfsense.com/index.php?id=43 You'll see that you need a minimam of 128mb ram, and even 128mb of storage on Flash or whatever. Good luck. This is specced about the same as the Soekris 4501-30, which used to be enough but not any more. I think m0n0 would do okay, though. That, or another minimalist distro, but m0n0 by far has the nicest feature-set of any small system I've seen. RB
