#392: Narrow no-break space after certain characters -+- Reporter: linus.luessing@… | Owner: Type: Fehler/Defekt| Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: Treiber: Linux – Xkbmap |Version: 2.0 Final Keywords: narrow no-break space e280af U+202F | ubuntu | -+- Somebody seems to have been so clever to turn the common space into a narrow no-break space (UTF8: 0xe280af, U+202F) after certain character combinations, for instance: a b is turned into 61 20 26 26 E2 80 AF 62 0A (hex) while it should be 61 20 26 26 20 62 0A. Same for a + b. This is utterly annoying when trying to write and compile code for instance, gcc does not like the narrow no-break space at all... The issue is gone when setting the keyboard language to English or the classic German layout. The issue appears both on the command line with various terminals (tried: lxterm, gnome-terminal with bash/zsh) and graphical UIs like gedit. #393: Mod3 not configured if German(neo) is first in Keyboard Layout Handler -+- Reporter: linus.luessing@… | Owner: Type: Fehler/Defekt| Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: Treiber: Linux – Xkbmap |Version: 2.0 Final Keywords: priority order ubuntu mod3 capslock | handler| -+- When adding and setting the Neo keyboard layout to be the default via the Keyboard Layout Handler widget in the taskbar (for instance: German(neo), German, English), then the left Mod3 unfortunately keeps being Caps_Lock (even the caps-lock LED lights up when hitting Left-Mod3) and the right Mod3 stays #. Funnily if I change the order of preference in the Settings window to for instance German, German(neo), English and then switching to German(neo) by clicking on the taskbar icon then Mod3 works perfectly fine.
