A few days ago, I began to use distcc to compile staroffice and met
a big problem because staroffice uses dmake and build alias which
finnally use perl script programs.I sent some mails to ask for help and
get 4 replies within a day!!
I was so moved by these warm-hearted people

The next step is to strace distccmon-text and see what the error is.
Make sure that your user can read the .distcc directory as well.
