I've just released zc.buildout 2.8.0 and the buildout.wheel extension.
If you have zc.buildout 2.8.0 or later, and you include:
extensions = buildout.wheel
In the buildout section of your buildout configuration, then buildout
should be able to install distributions as wheels.
This allowed me
