I'm installing django with mysql and was getting the cryptic message...
"Skipping validation because things aren't configured properly." It turned out there's a bug in the mysql python wrapper (MySQLdb) for version 1.2.2. The module tries to import "ImmutableSet" from sets.py. The solution is to remove the sets.py file from MySQLdb.
