I think i go a bit closer to my problem with the login via a display manager: I tried several login managers, and with allo of them trying to login as user brings me into nirwana. Now, i tried to login as root (+ passwd) via Slim and voilà, it worked! So, my suspect here - but without any idea h

Interesting experiment.. I repacked fsr's iso (otherwise unmodified) using the initrd from the devuan-minimal-beta. That initrd was also repacked and xz-compressed (now 8.5MB). I booted it "findiso" (from iso file on an ext4 partition) with a "live-hook" script, which automatically loads my speci
