Currently I stay in contact to the debian maintainer as the dkms package
works fine but not the standalone kernel package. I have a self
maintained version already on my server reenabling it. Nevertheless it
is not optimal.

Moreover, it raises the attack vector from one password to two.
That stupid use of sudo (That was initialize introduced by ubuntu)
should have an end.

But this libsystemd-dev dependency is not needed at all.
Other think, did you ever try to deinstall libsystemd0? It will
deinstall many other packages; at least on ceres.

This eudev package just work and it feels faster than udev 215-18.

Well, The problem is that I _did_ an upgrade and ended with a unbootable
system. I had to boot with grml and installed version 2.02.173-1 what
fixed the problem.
ldd do show the dependencies to /usr if you want to check yourself.

Gnome on it, ... But who want's that? For my
setup with fvwm, to watch movies or use a browser or do some hacking it
is way enough.
And Firefox is even slow on my i7, There is not that much performance
difference on that laptops.

Well, I use gpg-agent instead of ssh-agent. That is a better way to
handle keys and allows more control for about how long you allow the
keys/pass to get cached.
And gpg-agent uses pinentry that is available in many flavours.
