Coming across the very similar prefetch features within unbound and knot, I also found this interesting article: http://www1.icsi.berkeley.edu/~srikanth/docs/prefetch-sigcomm2012poster.pdf using a more sophsticted approach to DNS-prefetching. It looks like, prefetching provides a good performance boost regarding hit rate of cache, and mean response times, therefore. Are there any plans to implement prefetching in dnsmasq ?
