Hi,
I need help for printing section number in a different way in docbook,
Currently, if there is section like 2.1.3,
Generated pdf prints *2.1.3.* instead of *2.1.3*
In first case there is a dot at the end which can be sometimes confusing. I
dont want that in my pdf.
Please help me fixing
I use a vertical-align=« middle » and everything went fine in the end!
Thanks,
JF

Hi,
I defined a style for my weblink as follows:
xsl:template match=d:link[@xrefstyle = 'web']
xsl:param name=content
This dot is coming from the gentext (generated text) file for the
language you are using. The general process for customizing gentext in
DocBook XSL is described here:

And in your case, you want to modify the l:template with name=section
Unfortunately, the display-align property is hard coded into the layout
table for the footer, so that will require customizing the footer table.
The reason display-align=after is used in the footer is so that the
page.margin.bottom setting is accurate and consistent. See the

Hi Vadim,
I'm afraid it won't be easy to link to a specific biblioset if it does
not have an xml:id. Are those entries not editable? If you can xref to
the xml:id on biblioset, it will generate the biblioset/title by default.
However, I notice that in FO output, the xml:id is not copied
Hi Vadim,
As you say, in the namespaced stylesheets, the namespace is explicit, so
all docbook element names have the docbook namespace prefix, so look for
this template instead:
xsl:template match=d:orderedlist/d:listitem mode=item-number
I confirmed it is present in
Hi Aaron,
This can be done, but it is surprisingly tricky to select the first para
after a section title in the general case. The content model for
section allows all kinds of elements to appear before the first para
element. For example, an itemizedlist can appear first in a section, but

The following customized template is copied from the match=d:para
template in fo/block.xsl. It selects the children of section, then
eliminates the allowed elements before para, then takes the first
remaining element [1], and then checks to see if it is
Right. That was not very clever of me to miss that. Thank you!
