Members of the DocBook TC,

First, please accept my apologies for the long delay in getting your review
started. I am very embarrassed that it has taken us this long. I have made
changes to our publishing protocol to ensure that we don't fall this far
behind again but that doesn't excuse how long you have been waiting.

The 60 day public review for DocBook V5.1 COS01 preceding the membership
vote has been announced. The review ends on November 11th. You can find the
announcement at
https://www.oasis-open.org/news/announcements/docbook-version-5-1-cos01-public-review-ends-nov-7th.
I have also tweeted the news and posted it to the OASIS and DocBook
LinkedIn groups.

Following the review, if there are no comments or if you have comments but
choose not to make changes to the specification, it will be put to the
OASIS membership for the OASIS Standard vote. I will work with you in
advance to organize that ballot. As of now, I expect that ballot to open on
November 9th and close November 23rd.

Please keep in mind the OASIS requirements for handling comments [1].
Non-TC member feedback can only be submitted to the TC's comment list
docbook-comm...@lists.oasis-open.org. The TC must have someone subscribed
to this mail list to monitor comments. All submitted comments must be
acknowledged by the TC. In addition, the TC needs to maintain a log of
comments received and their resolutions. The comment resolution log will
need to be available when you begin your next public review. A simple
comment resolution log template is available in OpenDocument [2] and Office
[3] format.

Let me know if you have any questions regarding the review or next steps.
