[docbook-apps] Generating e-pub and html indexes

The DocBook stylesheets do a terrific rendering of an index to PDF. Just amazing! However, rendering to e-pub and html it is not as specific, pointing to the beginning of a chapter/section. Is there a way to generate an index for e-pub and html that will generate an index like the PDF output?
