On UNIX I use aspell which understands SGML/XML tags
aspell --mode=sgml check file.xml
You would probably have to find some fancy XML editor on the Windows
platform that would do the job

Hi there,
Good morning. I am at my wits end trying to customize my converted DocBook
XML to PDF output, and I'm finally getting humble and asking for help.
SYSTEM:
I'm on Windows 2000. I'm using the DocBook XML DTD, more accurately, the
Arbortext ATI XML DocBook V4.0 DTD. This is the DTD that
I used to use LaTeX article style and BibTex with bibdb-like
tools during my time at university. I am now using DocBook
for publications, and have to find a comparable solution. My
first two attempts at using the DocBook make me believe I am
missing something fundamental here.

Appears the answer to most everything here is to customize the stylesheet
via a driver file.
If anyone has any other ideas (book/tutorial recommendation?), please don't
hesitate.
Thanks,

I have to find a spellchecking solution for users that are
familiar with MS Word, to apply to DocBook SGML (later XML)
document instances. Right now either the SGML source is
spellchecked in Word, or the RTF rendering is, with the
changes being transferred into the SGML. The ideal solution

FWIW:
FOP 0.20.3RC no longer uses the fo-patch-for-fop.xsl stylesheet. It causes
an error if the patch is applied. However I don't see a difference in the
output at all and "property - "linefeed-treatment" is not implemented yet"
is still there.

First: A preface can't come before a book. I tried anyway, but Saxon gives
an error message and looking at the DocBook Hierarchy, it appears

Three items...
First:
I am trying to come up with HTMLHelp file that has a simple hierarchy.
Since I am new to XML, XSL and DocBook, I am unsure if I am specifying the
wrong tags or if I need to customize the HTMLHelp XSL in my XSL driver file.
What I am trying to do is generate a help table of

I have two "concerns" about refdb:
. You're forced to use one and only database system (unfortunately
not PostgreSQL). There are generic frameworks like
libgda/GNOME-DB, and there are
