Hi there,
I notice that the default value for content-width in the fo stylesheets
is currently auto. Is there any reason not to make the default
scale-down-to-fit [1]? Or should it be parameterized for those using
older fo processors that don't

There is no class attribute defined for DocBook's imageobject element, so it is
unlikely that its value would be handled by the stylesheet. Were you thinking of the
role attribute? I see both class and role on imagedata, but since you are asking
about role=histogram, I'll assume

The simplest solution for just the chapter title is to add space-before in the title
(and be sure to add space-before.conditionality=retain since it appears first in the
flow).
