Hello
Draft version 4.0 of Appendix B is now in the Drafts LO4.0 folder on the ODF
Authors website.
Spelling corrections and minor tweaks only to make it more generic for
future versions of LO.
Hello! Documentation Team!
I recently downloaded some files to test whether they would open in LibreOffice

When I downloaded 400 .doc files, I opened 399 files in LibreOffice.
Only 1 could not be opened.
All 400 files were smaller than or equal to 692.5 KB. I started the testing

Yes, I know. http://de.libreoffice.org/hilfe-kontakt/handbuecher/ -
scroll a little bit down and you will find version 3.5.
We are working on a new version 4.0,. Could be this
The awesome duo of JohnS and PeterS have completed updating all
chapters of the Getting Started book to LO v4.0. I'll go through the
last few chapters today (review and edit) and, unless I spot some
problem, I will then compile the full book. Others on the team are

Hi,
I know I'm new here, but I wouldn't mind helping update the Calc guide. If
you can give me some pointers, and be prepared to answer questions, I'll be
glad to help out!

Hello Jean,
Meanwhile, we're still working our way through translating the Base
Handbook from German, though we'll need to incorporate into the
translated chapters any changes being made to it for v4.0.
As I understand you want to have a look at what we are doing with
Handbuch Base here,
If anyone can help with updating the Calc Guide to LO v4.0, please
step forward.
At this point we need someone (or several people) with some knowledge
of spreadsheets in general and Calc in particular, even if your
English writing skills are not great. Other people can edit and
improve upon the

Chapter 2, Producing LibreOffice User Guides, and Chaper 3, Using the
ODFAuthors Website, in the Contributors' Guide, are good places to get
started with the practical issues of updating files.

I hope I am wrong, but for now
I'll be willing to help, as I explained in a post on Getting Started 4.0
book and status of updating all user guides. I know the basics of
Spreadsheets, but will likely write some bits and leave bits I don't know
much about (like macros for instance) out.

Hi :)
You can pickchoose which chapters of which guides so it's fairly easy to avoid
doing stuff you really don't like. Even the stuff you don't know is probably
something you could review or proofread or something just to see if the proper
worker has missed a comma or done a tpyo or

Thanks, Tim. Your comments also caused me to look more closely at some
other wording and make a few more changes. Good! (Uploading amended
