Belatedly realised that some index entries in the user guide chapters will need to be changed, deleted, or added. We don't generate alphabetic indexes for the individual chapters, but when we put the chapters together into a book, we do generate an alphabetic index that is included in the book.
I have added this item to the Doc Development page in the "what needs to be done while rebranding" section. Later today, I'll look at the Getting Started guide to see how many embarrassing errors are in the index, and fix them.
