Re: [libreoffice-documentation] New member

2017-06-08 Thread Cathy Crumbley

Hi Jean,

Thank you. This is what I wanted.

I have started to review the chapters and should warn you that there
will probably be a number of comments for you to look over. Nearly all
would be minor issues of formatting and clarity.

As someone still trying to figure out Libreoffice, I hope that I can
bring a fresh perspective that would be challenging for people with
expert knowledge.

It would be great if you could tell me a little about the documentation
team. About how many people are involved? Are they mostly technical
specialists or are some like me? Mostly in Europe and North America?

By the way, if you are Jean Weber, is Hazel Russman an alias?

Thanks again.

Cathy

They need to be thoroughly reviewed. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

If you don't have a login for the ODFAuthors website, Olivier or I or
others can create one for you. The files are public, so you can
download them without a login; however, you'll need a login to upload
reviewed files to the Feedback folder.

If you do that, let me know when you've done them and I'll proof-read them.

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Calc On-Line Help

2017-06-08 Thread Olivier Hallot
Hello Dave

This is actually a developer issue, to connect the help button to the
right Help page in the wiki.

With the local help package installed, the Conditional formatting dialog
opens file

/text/scalc/01/0512.xhp

see
http://vm173.documentfoundation.org//text/scalc/01/0512.html?

which is correct.

For some reason, the wiki conversion is missing the right target:

https://help.libreoffice.org/scalc/modules/scalc/ui/conditionalformatdialog/add?Language=en-US=UNIX=5.3

It needs attention from a developer to fix this.

regards
Olivier

[libreoffice-documentation] Calc On-Line Help

2017-06-08 Thread Dave
I am trying to assist with the Help facility, using meta-bug 80430 as a
reference to items which require attention. My first attempt was look
at: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55212 "UI: Help
and Help button in Conditional Formatting dialogs give empty page"
It's not clear if this was ever an issue with the local help, but it is
an issue with the on-line Help (all current LO versions),
The Conditional Formatting help does exist at:
https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Conditional_Formatting
but the link in the program points to:
https://help.libreoffice.org/scalc/modules/scalc/ui/conditionalformatdialog/add
The link should point to: help.libreoffice.org/Calc/
not: help.libreoffice.org/scalc/modules/scalc

Is this something the Documentation Team can deal with, or do we need to
call on a developer?

I have a reasonable degree of web development experience and given the
necessary access, a little guidance and time, I could set a redirect
from the erroneous links. However, this should only be applied as a
temporary "stop-gap" fix.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Regards
Dave
