Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Public, world-readable "LibreOffice Documentation" folder ?
Hi Oliver I am not against making the folder ”share” public, but what is the use of it? I noticed that the folder "LibreOffice Documentation" in the "share" is the same folder as the folder "LibreOffice Documentation" on the higher level, with the same documents in them. Isn't it so that the communities are publishing files they want to share with their users, in their own way? The Dutch community shares its documentation via the documentation page of the Dutch LibreOffice site, with links to the files on the Nextcloud. I also see sharing via the wiki. How many users will visit the Necxtcloud surging for documents? Again, I’m not against making the share folder public, but I think we have to think about the right reason to do it. Kind regards, Kees Olivier Hallot schreef op 13.03.2019 19:14: Hi Documentation team and local communities. It occurs to me that the "LibreOffice Documentation" share in Nextcloud is supposed to store public documents, or non-classified, non-confidential documents. Question is: what if the above mentioned folder is made public, world-readable (*not editable*) ? Is there any drawback to make it public besides showing unfinished, work-in-progress documents? Is there specific confidential information that justifies privacy in the contents? How can we manage that? Please let us know your thoughts. [libreoffice-documentation] in help...Calc/Text_Functions/nl, twice LENGTE()
https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Text_Functions/nl#LENGTE https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Text_Functions/nl#LENGTE_2 It is does not make sense to have two different functions with the same name LENGTE()! I could help a friend with LEN() for the second functionality, but he may have chosen to use function names in English, not in Dutch — therefore I cannot be sure if LEN() exists in Dutch. He is gone and I cannot test.(I use a French version.)I leave to others to test this on a Dutch version with Dutch function names, to then improve the help page in Dutch. -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: documentation+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: https://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/documentation/ Privacy Policy: https://www.documentfoundation.org/privacy

Hello It is a mistake in the Dutch translation of the Help page. The English names of the functions are LENB and LEN, respectively, as shown in the English version of the page. Function names in user interface https://translations.documentfoundation.org/nl/libo_ui/translate/formula/#search=lenb=source https://translations.documentfoundation.org/nl/libo_ui/translate/formula/#search=len=source Dutch team, please HEADS UP! Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Intro
Hi Olivier, and thanks! I use Libre Office (mostly the Writer) for all my personal use. As a professional technical writer, I use primarily MS Office, the wiki software Confluence, and Wikipedia for most of my writing. I also use Powerpoint a fair bit, and various other apps to a lesser extent, e.g. Excel, Visio, Slack, Jira, etc. I haven't done any real developing in recent years, but that is in my background, and I do use HTML and Markdown somewhat. I understand that LENGTE() is confirmed as Dutch for LENB() But the question remains: what is Dutch for LEN()? Dominique Meeùs wrote on 3/14/19 9:52 PM: > I understand that LENGTE() is confirmed as Dutch for LENB() No, LEN is LENGTE in Dutch. And LENB is LENB. In the text I wrote, I explained the changes that I made in the translation. Obsiously, some things were wrong. E.g. LENB (English) was LENGTE in the HELP.
