Ahhh, so the powerful bit is LibreOffice as a whole rather than Base. Base
'just' provides
1. A convenient container to keep things together
2. Something that ostensibly looks a bit like Access

No issues at this point, but when I get into it seriously I may well find
things to suggest.

I use Draw all the time to add a handwritten signature to CAD drawings
that are in PDF format to show they are authorised.
Draw does change the linecap feature of drawn lines from rounded to
square, so on close inspection drawn items are not a clear.

Thanks for your feedback. I wrote the outline as a guide for the guide so,
it too, is flexible. And in the course of authoring a chapter one might find
it not the best way to go. Changes are welcome...
