Hello Girvin When I grab a screen shot or create an illustration, I save it as a PNG file. I then copy the file and paste it into a Writer document. In my opinion, OLE objects are only really useful if your document is staying within the same directory structure because a link to an OLE object

Hi :) I think Gimp might allow you to save into Png format that allows you to keep all the different layers and alpha channels and stuff but i have a feeling that it needs an add-on.  Otherwise the layers get merged or flattened.  I tried asking about this here a few weeks ago but asked badly
