Olivier,
I checked about the named ranges, which does refer to the right
chapter (13, Calc as a Simple Database) -- unless of course, someone
removes it from there.

However, I still don't know what to do about the remaining
comments/questions from Zach. I don't know the answers to them.

I'll continue copy-editing and leave those questions for someone else.
It's possible I'll have some additional questions before I'm finished.

Jean

Hi Jean

yes I did not came back to solve the "note to self". Actually it was to
check if the "named ranges" are refered to the right chapter.

Hi Zach

We can use 2 techniques: Comments and Track Changes

For track changes, please fill you name in Tools - Options - LibreOffice
- User data .

Then enable track changes (if not already enabled) and add your changes.

This way, your changes/suggestions will be tracked with your name, and
will be revised later.

Olivier

But I found it difficult material.
So I could not do more than review for type errors, style errors and
correct menu paths.

I think that the second review should be thorough too.
With my compliments for the great work that Steve accomplished.

I have also placed a zip file into the Archive folder which contains

The options buttons opens detailed parametrization of each of the Solver
algorithms. Admitedly, one has to be very knowledgeable in each of
theses algorithm to write an authoritative text on the subject.

If other Authors agree, we can just add a small introductory contents on
the algorithm and forward the reader to related wikipédia pages or math
textbooks: the guide scope is not teach the theory behind the
algorithms implemented.

Yes. Either an additional chapter on Statistical Data Analysis or an
extension of Chap 9. The Statistical Data analysis was implemented in
the software since the last release of the Calc Guide.

As with the Solver above, only some introductory contents on each entry,
although there are some interesting tricks to write about.
