possible cause to redirect to install :

- if $dolibarr_main_db_host is empty (filefunc.inc.php line 176)
- if install process is not completely finished (main.inc.php from

Ok, I am getting things set up again step by step. The installer issue is
now solved as it does not ask me anymore to reinstall since I started and
upgraded
to 7.0.0 but now my problems are that 7.0.0 seem not to be a so stable
release. So I have few questions:

1. Is 7.0.0 in the git tree under branch/7.0 a stable one and the tag 7.0.0
is the stable one ?
If yes, why do I see version 8.0.0-alpha ? Should not that be saying 7.0.0
instead ?

2. I am getting register not found when I click on a company name link. Why
is this happening on a stable release ?
If I am running a stable release at all.

6.0.5 tgz file and untar it. After that the installer showed up again. But
strangely the
installer after unpacking the 6.0.5 tarball was showing 6.0.5 version and
wanted to update to 8.0.0-alpha. I have then run the installer to upgrade
to
7.0.0 and of course it errored, then it asked me to upgrade to version
8.0.0-alpha, since the source was 6.0.5 it errored again but after
finishing all that proces
it showed me the login page.
Now with the login page I tried to login but I get the following error:

Unknown column 'u.birth' in 'field list'

So, what would be the recommended way to restore back to 6.0.5 version ?

Hi Km, no it still redirects me to the install process. It is
strange it worked well for a long time.

root@braserv:/srv# cd  dolibarr
root@braserv:/srv/dolibarr# git checkout .
root@braserv:/srv/dolibarr# git clean -fd
Removing htdocs/conf/.conf.php.un~

root@braserv:/srv/dolibarr# git checkout 6.0.5

M    htdocs/langs/pt_BR/companies.lang
M    htdocs/langs/pt_BR/help.lang
M    htdocs/langs/pt_BR/main.lang
M    htdocs/langs/pt_BR/sendings.lang
Note: checking out '6.0.5'.

You are in 'detached HEAD' state. You can look around, make
experimental
changes and commit them, and you can discard any commits you make
in this
state without impacting any branches by performing another checkout.

If you want to create a new branch to retain commits you create,
you may
do so (now or later) by using -b with the checkout command again.
Example:

  git checkout -b

HEAD is now at 92cace6... Merge branch '5.0' of
g...@github.com:Dolibarr/dolibarr.git into 6.0
root@braserv:/srv/dolibarr#

It seems it just removed 2 files one of them being my index.html
for redirection and then throw out that.
But it still does not work.

Hi how does exactly the dollibar installer check for the updated
version of the files ? Is there a file

or a variable with version in the code or is it written to some DB table ?

[Dolibarr-dev] Updating with git

2018-03-06 Par sujet Sasa Ostrouska
Hi, I am having troubles with the latest updates from the git tree.

My setup is as follows:

I have a /srv/dolibarr dir where I have the checkout from the git.
Here I use git checkout 6.0 to be always on the 6.0 branch.

It worked well up to before the last update of the tree. I am using the
git fetch and then git merge commands to be up to date with the git tree.

In the last days the installer wants to force me to update to the 7.0
branch or
develop one , showing Dolibarr installer 8.0.0-alpha.

I can not make dolibarr go back to the 6.0.5 or 6.0.4 tags.

Any ideas on how to solve this ?
