I am using Kubuntu. Looking up ancestry records on-line, and when I
want to print, as well as my printer there is a print to file option.
This automatically selects for me the 'ps' option, and I have to select
'pdf' every time. I have also discovered that it automatically prints to
'US

I am using same OS.
I am pretty sure you can't change those default config.

There's papersize(5) and /etc/papersize. :-)

Papersize specifies A4.
And Yes, this is from Firefox.
