This was a change Spotify made some time back I think, because I saw the
same change on Arch after one of Spotify's updates a few months back.

I've not managed to find a setting to bring the tray icon back.

[Dorset] How do I? with Skype, Spotify, and Gkrellm

On Kubuntu 16.04, before I upgraded, then I hit the X  on Skype or 
Spotify, they would minimize to an icon on the status bar.  Gkrellm I 
have always had showing as an open program on the panel. After my 
upgrade, only Skype still performs the same. Spotify on the X 
terminates. It is a new version of Spotify I think (1.0.28.89)


Has anyone else encountered this?  And also How do I get gkrellm to work 
(display)  but not show on the bottom panel.
