Yes they should work fine. I believe they follow USB mass storage device 
standards, or something similar.


However, they can only read/write IBM formatted disks (720k/1.44M). They 
can't do eg. Acorn RISC OS disks.
If you need to read non-IBM disks there are other USB devices you can 
use, but they are more complicated.

Should have no problem. My USB DVD drive just works (Mageia) and I had 
no problems with a floppy drive, though that was long ago (sorry, I no 
longer have it).
