The roots of n²-1 are n+1 and n-1. That might have relevance to those
that heard about multiplying 255ths by 257 when scaling [0, 256) to [0,
256²).

Clive, try `sudo -i smbpasswd theusernametofix' to reset an unknown
password of a Samba user on that particular machine. You may need to do
this on each of them; I've never used Samba. :-)
