*Role: Java Lead* *Duration: 6+ month * *Location: Plano, TX * *Mode of interview: Phone then Onsite * *USC GC EAD * Client is seeking a self-motivated Senior Java developer who wants to be part of a journey to modernize their application portfolio. Looking for someone with a curious mind and experience with Java and Linux systems. The position requires participation in the full software development lifecycle. Someone who loves to code, loves business application development, and wants to help shape our long-term IT strategy will be an excellent fit. *JOB FUNCTIONS:* Develop and Maintain Software Systems – 100% • Design, develop and test software in Java/J2EE. • Accountable for architecture and all the technical aspects of the application. • Analyze existing software to determine areas for continuous improvement • Work with other developers to plan sprints and deliver solutions for business requirements (user stories) • Participate in project planning activities – breakdown of requirements into tasks, resource and duration estimation, etc. • Help with design and code reviews for the projects executed by the vendor. • Lead and coach junior developers. • Act as Technical liaison between Business and IT groups. • Help with the planning and execution of the overall technical and portfolio roadmap. *KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED:* State formal educational level and experience required for the job. State additional professional, technical or years of experience required. • 9+ years of experience in designing, developing and maintaining Java/J2EE, SOA and Cloud based enterprise web applications. • At least 7 years of experience in development, technology consulting, enterprise and solutions architecture and architectural frameworks. • Deep knowledge of OOD methodology, Java, XML, J2EE (JSP, JMS, EJB, Servlet, JDBC, JPA) and Web Services (SOAP & REST). • Working knowledge of HTML, SQL, JSP, CSS, JavaScript and JS frameworks (jQuery, bootstrap, AngularJS), Spring, Hibernate, Security/SSO etc. is necessary. • Team experience including structured source code management using CVS, Git, Mercurial and Subversion with ANT and Maven experience • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle. Experience with Agile Methodology is a plus. • Experience with automated testing frameworks (protractor) and continuous integration systems (Jenkins & BuildMaster) • Experience with relational database systems (SQL Server) is a must and experience with nosql databases like MongoDB or Couchbase is preferred • Experience with Hazelcast and Redis is preferred. • Experience with Liferay is a plus. • Experience with Unix scripting is required. • Experience with Appservers(Tomcat, Glassfish) and WebServers(Apache). • Ability to work well at every level of the software process, from requirements engineering to coding. • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team. • Experience in using different development and process tools like Docker, Rally, Kabana, Nexus is preferred. • Experience with Mulesoft and/or Tibco is preferred.
