Thanks Timo,
set the dovecot log as suggested, and this is what a telnet session gives me
now on dovecot.log:
ssl-params: Info: Generating SSL parameters
ssl-params: Info: SSL parameters regeneration completed
auth: Debug: Loading modules from directory: /usr/lib/dovecot/modules/auth
Debug: auth
Thinking I should look into PAM , this is my config:
in /etc/pam.d/dovecot:
#%PAM-1.0
@include common-auth
@include common-account
@include common-session
in common-auth:
authrequiredpam_unix.so nullok_secure
in common-account
accountrequiredpam_unix.so
in common-session
Sorry for all the consecutive emails, but thought I'd mention I'm using
PostfixAdmin to create my users and mailboxes on virtual domains.
Should I leave PAM authentication for another type of authentication, maybe
SQL based ?

Works for me, though I'm using LMTP:
Hi all
Without the listescape plugin I see the following things happen:
- If I share a mailbox, dovecot-acl-list in Maildir root is updated
accordingly.
- If I create a subfolder in an already shared mailbox the dovecot-acl
file of the parent folder is copied to the new folder and
new Dovecot 2.0.8 installation on Opensuse 11.3
I got the error lmtp (x...@mydomain.yy): Error: user x...@mydomain.yy:

What's the syntax of the client_limit and where to place it? Into which

Guess you can tweak it here:
$ doveconf -a | grep -A 5 'service.lmtp'
service lmtp {
I created a virtual mailbox which maps to a single physical mailbox (in
Dovecot 1.x I did this with a symlink but had intermittent problems with
Dovecot 2.0 doing the same.)
However, I can only copy one message at a time into the mailbox. If I
try to copy more, I get:

Hi,
i've been using dovecot2 on our server for handling virtual mailboxes and
postfix is also using it to examine if a mail has to be delivered locally or
not. Recently i upgraded to 2.0.7 (freebsd ports), but it stopped working,
says the error in the subject line.

Can you email the output of
# dovecont -n
and
# dsync -D ( rest of your comand )
Rememer, first dsync does not need to edit anyconf on dovecot!

As many changes as the repository has had, isnt it time for 2.0.9?
I don't like that, because \Deleted files are in disk and take space.
But well, it's a customer decissiĆ³n.
Another posibility could be delete-to-trash but it doesn't run on Dovecot 2.0.x.
I though that lazy-expunge take \Deleted files and expunged files, but not.
I think that I can use this
