Finally, 512MB helped. But it is quite strange to me… Why one particular
mailbox, what could be causing it?

timo is quite correct -- consider imap instead, that's why the protocol exists.
This rather seems like anti-imap - kind of desperate search for free disk
space... IMAP does quite the opposite thing, since users acutally never
remove emails :)

I'll check if I have time properly set, but if so - I'll probably have
to live with it (I have no influence on NFS server).

authenticate in order to send mails through the server. If it is too
complicated in postfix, admin can simply map port 587 to 25 - most
probably that would work well.
