Hi all,
I'm trying to make quota work in Squeeze (Dovecot 1.2.15-7).
try auth_debug = yes
In fact, enabling auth_debug gives me this:

Hi!
Please help me with this.
The problem exists when quota-warning is executing:

No, this did not solve the problem. I changed to vmail

user = vmail
unix_listener quota-warning {

This is what works for me:
service quota-warning {
executable = script /usr/local/etc/dovecot/quota

My configurations are similar to Patrick ones and works

Right, looks like the Wiki Example needs to be revamped...

Thank you all for your help.
Changing from:
unix_listener quota-warning {
}
to:
unix_listener quota-warning {
user = vmail
}
solved the problem!
Now my quota warning message is being sent successfully.
I think I'll now open a new thread on how to send rich/UTF-8 mail

Probably you just need to format/encode it properly ... no big deal
on that.

After some deep investigations I manage to solve the problem. I was only
reading quota in user_querry. Now I read it in user_querry and in
password_query and all seems fine:
--dovecot-sql.conf---
user_query = SELECT '/home/%d/%n' as home, 'maildir:/home/%d/%n' as mail, 150

Hello list,
I believe I found a bug with quota.
The dovecot quota replies with incorrect values when the mailbox is above 2GB.
du -ks returns 2005764bytes
dovecot IMAP on the same user/directory:
1 getquotaroot inbox
* QUOTAROOT INBOX user
* QUOTA user (STORAGE 1096 200)* QUOTAROOT INBOX

Anyway, here's a guess: the quota is stored in mysql in integer, which
has a maximum value of 2 GB. Actually looks like Dovecot wiki pages also
use integer. Replace that with bigint and recalculate quota and it
should work.
Actually the mysql part is OK:

Is the quota in the database 1096 or2GB? i.e. is the problem with
reading it, or updating it? In general the quota code uses 64bit
integers everywhere so this shouldn't be happening.
In the database quota field is 204800.

I'm having some difficulty understanding the connection between postfix,

What is the best way to set up quotas? through the file system quota and
maildir? Need the dovecot lda working? The postfix needs a patch?
I was thinking about setting quotas on file system,
