Thanks Alex. I myself ran into these problems as described above and having distinct Maildir and Homedir helped it. The main reason being dovecot not making any distinction between a folder and maildir folder, which seems to have a very simple solution though. -- Yassine.

I can't provide specific details as I'm on the road, but I successfully used mmv utility to accomplish something similar - changed mail home from domain/local@domain to just domain/local for about 65 users, took less than a second once I worked out the command (it supports wildcards) . The
