I have just found that the attached source file will cause Doxygen 1.8.4 to enter a dead loop. It looks like a bug for me. Earlier versions (1.8.3.1 and many others) do not exhibit this issue. I tested on Windows and Cygwin. In a directory with only this test file, I typed the following commands:
