I added a fix for this, if someone wants to test it.  There's a new DQSDTools.dll attached to the tracker item:

I noticed that if a search is renamed to something like
<filename>.xml_old, it still gets discovered and loaded
by the toolbar on startup.   This is intended mostly a tip
to anyone testing some new search code.  I spent about
an hour trying to find the syntax error in a search before finally
figuring out my original (scratch) search file named
<file>.xml_new had the problem, and the search code
I was working on was fine...   Doh!
