RE: [DQSD-Users] error with beta 13

2002-06-25 Thread sarah

I tried that, and I still get the same error message. BTW, I am now
at work (where I am also running IE6), and having the exact same
problem.

I think I've found something very strange in search.htm, which I've
corrected. It doesn't correspond with the line number you quoted,
but that
 doesn't usually mean much...

Can you take a new copy of search.htm from CVS and try it?

 Cheers,

 Will

Can you try taking a new helpmenu.js from CVS.

I wish I knew how you provoked your machines to be so picky!

Larry,

there is information on adding new searches on our FAQ page at:
http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=10846group_id=42081#sea
rches

If you are using any of the later 2.5.8 beta versions you can also disable
some of the searches from the Help/About... screen.

you can get the latest beta at:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=42081

Is it alright for me to have the source code?
I wish to add freshmeat.net to the search list and remove those I don't
 use...

 Larry,

The source is GPL'd and is available at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/dqsdd (and on your machine if you've
 installed lately).

Just fyi, there's no need to modify any source to add a search, just add a
new .XML file in the searches subdirectory. To remove searches, delete or
rename their corresponding .XML files in the searches subdir.

 Glenn

RE: [DQSD-Users] error with beta 13

2002-06-25 Thread Sarah Sweeney

I moved my local files, and everything seems to be fine now. Any idea what
preference could be causing this? If not, I guess I will just have to use a
trial and error process to figure it out.

Thanks!

See the attached screenshot. Obviously line 27 isn't right, cause that's a
line with a comment on it.

The line number is _never_ right, AFAICT.

Usually it's the line after the one with the error on it, and whichever
file it occurs in, it's always reported as search.htm.

Unfortunately, I can't find any reference to 'undefined' on any relevant
line in any HTM or JS file in my DQSD directory.

(I'm doing findstr /i /n undefined *.js *.htm at a command prompt - perhaps
you could try this if you're on W2K or XP?)

I have all the local files, the same ones I've been using for the last
several betas.

Could you move them all somewhere else, and see if it makes a difference.

It might be that the fault only happens if some preference is set, and
obviously you're overriding the default preferences.

Cheers,

Will

Sarah,

Could you zip up your local files and drop them on the list so we can take a
look?

Thanks,
Glenn

well i'd suspect the preference ThrowScriptError=true;

nah just kidding. but on a serious note check at or near line 27 in each of
these files.

just my 2 cents.

Wow! I found the problem! Unfortunately, I don't know what to do to fix it.
When I commented out the following line in my localaliases.txt, the problem
was fixed:
## isb

Any ideas?

Thanks for all the help, guys.
