RE: [DQSD-Users] can't get focus on dqsd

2002-10-01 Thread MLL

Hi,

1. whenyou say IE maximized, do you meen full screened actually ? Anyway, I can't
reproduce your problem on my machine either way.

2. On my Win2K SP3 + IE6 SP1, DQSD works like a breeze.

When IE is maximized I can't get focus on dqsd no matter how I try, with WIN+S or with
mouse clicks. I seem to remember someone else had the same problem. The only fix is to
minimize or normalize IE, then WIN+S and mouse clicks work as expected.
If anyone is working on a patch I can help test it on my machine: Win2k SP2, IE 6.0,
latest official dqsd.
By the way, does dqsd have problems with Win2k SP3? Should I try to upgrade that one
first?

Maybe we should make a search on these ideas, like jdk and jsref are.

I've run TraySaver in the past, and it's a nice piece of work. Note that
it's a beta, and read the docs carefully. Mike was delving into some
unexplored areas when he wrote it, and it doesn't work for everyone. While
you're there, grab Mike's StartCPL Control Panel applet as well. It's the
best thing I've seen for managing what gets loaded at startup by Windows.

Another app that performs a similar function is PC Magazine's TrayManager2
utility. TrayManager2 gathers tray icon ibto a single icon. Right click on
it, and you get a pop-up menu of the programs in the tray, and can execute
them from within TrayManager2. It's designed for thos folks who wind up
with a _lot_ of stuff in the tray and want to reclaim some space. As a
side-effect, it also saves tray icons after an Explorer crash, and you can
simply stuff them back into TrayManager2 again.

You can get it here: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,59712,00.asp
