If the text entry in the toolbar is greyed out then the OS is not
successfully able to load it... Its not that the toolbar is malfunctioning.
I think your problem is probably OS related.

Something to try if you havent already:

1. Ensure you have the latest script engine.  There have been recent posts
on where to fetch it.

2. Run all the windows updates to pick up any bug fixes.. Especially any IE
updates.

3. Uninstall the toolbar, DELETE OR RENAME the 'Quick Search Toolbar'
directory, and re-install the toolbar again.
