I can't get DQSD to work in Firefox at all. When I attempt a search, I get
a blank tab with this
file:///C:/DOCUME~1/JOHNWR~1/LOCALS~1/Temp/DQSDLaunch.html in the address
bar. I've tried editing the localprefs as described here

I'm speculating, but one reason for this may be that Javascript is disabled for
your browser. There's a bit of javascript in the temporary file you're seeing
which should submit the form, and if that wasn't firing for whatever reason,
this would probably be a symptom.
