Aww, it looks like imdb doesn't work anymore. I'm at work and can't
investigate, so this is just notification of the problem.

Re: [DQSD-Users] COMX.XML - missing Joy of Tech User Friendly (again)

2006-03-26 Thread Steve Poirier

Maybe it has something to do with comics pulled from ucomics.com. Try viewing 'Dick Tracy' using both of the following methods to see if they work:

comx /dicktracy
or
comx /dicktracy/nopopup

If neither work, try clearing your browser cache and try again.

 Hi Steve,

Thanks for the search and I have added it to the
version control. I also took the liberty to modify it
slightly to replace all non-hex characters and
substring just the first 6 characters. This allows me
to cut and paste a MAC address in.

Re: [DQSD-Users] Web button graphics (attached)

As long as you can hide it, like you can with the
word 'Search', then I guess it is not a problem. I just don't understand
why anyone would want to have part of their taskbar wasted on a graphic that
doesn't do anything.

  Hi Monty,

What might be nifty is to have a small dqsd graphic
displayed in place of the word "Search", like the
hotbot version of dqsd has... its a tiny little
improvement, but it adds an advertisement along with
being a little more visually appealing...

Is this something many people would want? I coded it up (a
  few
  changes to
search.htm). It's disableable via changing a line in prefs.
  You can
  also
change the url and size of the image.

Hi Monty,

What might be nifty is to have a small dqsd graphic
displayed in place of the word Search, like the
hotbot version of dqsd has... its a tiny little
improvement, but it adds an advertisement along with
being a little more visually appealing...

Is this something many people would want? I coded it up (a few changes to
search.htm). It's disableable via changing a line in prefs. You can also
change the url and size of the image.

Is anyone interested? Personally, I think it's a waste of space on the
taskbar, but - if anyone's wants it...

[DQSD-Users] TV Tome Search

2003-07-27 Thread Steve Poirier
Here is a little search I whipped up, using DSQD Search Wizard, after
discovering www.tvtome.com.
search function=tvtm
  COMMENT

Even though this XML search will probably load and is a good start
toward a completed search, please be aware that this search will probably
not work as is and will probably require some changes.

Re: [DQSD-Users] Problem with maximized.html file

Title: Message

Should be "maximized.htm" not

  "maximized.html" file

  Hi
  All,
  I just
downloaded and installed this product and its awesome. However, there seems to
be a problem with making the search results "maximized". Config says to just
input "maximized.html" into the variable and it will always max the screen.
However when I do that and reload, an error pops up stating that the var "url"
  is undefined on serach.html page.

  Any
  ideas?

Re: [DQSD-Users] opening search in new window vs. reusing open window

2003-01-09 Thread Steve Poirier
When the reuseWindowMode is set to 1 or 2, is it possible to make the window
that is being reused to come to the front and be active?

Shift-Enter will always opens a new window for the search regardless of
the
reuseWindowMode setting. This works only when IE is the default browser.
There's not another key-binding that does the opposite.

(It wouldn't be difficult to make Shift-Enter to differently depending on
the
 reuseBrowserWindowMode setting. Hmmm.)

Subject: [DQSD-Users] opening search in new window vs. reusing open window

  Hello,

I convinced a guy in my office to try DQSD, and he asked me a question
which I am not sure about, and would also like to know. I went to
SourceForge to try to search through the list archives, but I couldn't
search them. Is this functionality available but not obvious? I'm sure
I've
searched the archives before - maybe I'm imaging things, though :-)

Anyway, the question is - if my preferences are set to always open
searches
in a new window, is there some key combination I can use to force an
individual search to reuse the open browser window? (Also, is the
opposite
  possible?)

TIA for any help with this!

  Sarah
