Greetings, I have a Drake TR-3 that the volume pot. has gone out at the lower volume levels. Once the pointer reaches the 1200 position it works, but the volume is so loud you cannot bear it. I have tried contact cleaner, but that does not improve the situation. So I don't think it's dirty,

Garey, Tnx for the good info. I have a replacement dial that is MUCH clearer than the original so will try washing it gently and use it I think. The homemade one would be something to try. It sounds like it would work. Wonder if a CD label program would work? The kind that prints on the CD
