I've got a very harsh distorted CW note on 20 meters (80, 40 and 30 meters
work fine). The rig tunes up on 20 meters fine but the note is distorted

While we're on the subject, is there any way to lower the pitch of the
sidetone? I've grown used to a 600 hz sidetone and the high pitched sidetone

I just got an older R4C with very gritty sounding audio, especially on CW. I
installed the Sherwood filter caps and power supply board as well

My T4XB rocks on CWgreat tone and great reports.
Recently I tried A/Bing it with my Omni V on my weekly
75 meter SSB net and the concensus
I'm sure I'm doing something dumb, but on following the instructions for
transceive alignment for my B line, its STILL out. I noticed that after
adjusting C61 for a steady tone...moving away from the radio changed things
so I had to readjust several times and by the time I got the cabinet back
I've been noticing something strange with my T4XB lately.
While working CW, my output will drop to as low as 10 or 15 watts until I
turn the gain up to 2 o'clock. At that point it seems normal. Without
turning up the gain, if I check my output in tune mode I get full out. I
know the manual
Or how about the ones that make you fear for the safety of the equipment?
Saw a very pretty Johnson Ranger on
E-bay about a month agoguy said that they hooked a speaker up to it and
no matter how they turned the knobs all they got out of it was a strange
humming noise...Gee...I wonder why?
