Yes, the switches are obviously a different material and do not fade.
The buttons seem like they were 'dipped in red ink' or very thin paint.
WA9TGT used to make replacements that were turned out of solid red
plastic, but they were hand turned, so not inexpensive.

Any 2-B's or early 4-Line's that I worked on that the buttons where faded I
would sometimes paint red, new ones werent available.

I removed my 2-B from the cabinet to view the button from behind. It is more
pink,back there so it probably was red so many years ago. The red switches are
still red and the dial is clear, so it may have not been in the sun. Perhaps
the replacement buttons had better dye and stayed red.
