[Drakelist] MS-4 Speaker

I'm looking to purchase an MS-4 Speaker. Must be in excellent to collector condition, and from a non-smoking environment. I don't need the AC-4, just the MS-4 Cabinet itself. If you have one to sell, please reply with pictures and you're asking price. Thanks and 73! Paul, K2FX 585-764-11

Parts Express has or had another better-than-original speaker that fits the MS-4 cabinet. Unfortunately I can't find details of the one I bought a few years ago after it was recommended on one of these lists. The price was lower than this one, maybe half. On 4/16/2013 1049, Bob Loving wrote:

I need to replace the speaker in my MS-4; the voice coil failed (open). The speaker is 5" x 7" but I cannot find any for sale. Thirty years ago it would have been a no-brainer but today the replacement speaker market is dominated by car audio. Everything is multi-cone and high power. I found one sp

Fred - It's not really clear to me if you are referring to transmit audio or receive audio. If it's transmit audio, I suspect you are getting RF into the transmitter AF stages. Did this just start recently, or did you just use 40M for the first time? Check the microphone cable shield and a

I had the supply rebuilt 2 years ago and noticed that if I lay my finger tips on the top of the speaker cabinet I can feel a vibration as soon as I turn on the transmitter switch. On 40 meters I can hear some audio distortion or a frog in the throat sound to the audio. Anyone else have that
