[Drakelist] Looking for info on Wavetek 3001/ SG-1170/U

2012-01-26 Thread Curt

GM All:

Does anyone have or can point me to a source for a later version of the
3001/3002 manual? I have the one commonly found online dated 9/83 on front
cover but the compliment of modules, in some cases, is different (later).
Specifically, at this point, I am looking for a schematic of the Wide
Lock Osc.

W34-1. The one in the manual is a W34. The chip collection is different and
mine has two adjustment pots on top also.

Also, any general info on how these got to be 1170/U. Mine is marked as
a 3001
but with the added freq tag and Army ID tag so it has the RF protection
Breaker

and the Downconverter for KHz selection.

Fought several typical problems and had it working but now I think the
wide lock
has gone south. It is outputing the unlock level to the mod board but
there is

no unlock light on the module. Even if I disconnect everything from the top,
the unlock light part is not gointg.

I've been through every module reseating and de-oxiding contacts...what
a PITA!

Hey it was cheap!

Thanks for any help.

[Drakelist] Looking For L7 or L75 Part

2011-06-17 Thread Ron
Hello to all, I just acquired a very nice L75 amplifier
for my shack. However the black end cap on one side is
broken. So I am looking to purchase one of those black
end caps for either the Drake L-7 or L-75 amplifiers, it is
the same on both models. Unlike the smaller size for the
other 7 line radios, for the amplifier there was no right or
left side. The longer end caps on the amplifiers will fit
either side.

I know I can get aftermarket replacement, but I want to keep
it all original if possible.

So if anyone has an original Drake L-7 or L-75 black end cap
in good condition they want to sell, please let me know.

Thanks, Ron / WB4HFN

K7RX de WA9RYF
Well Kevin, I really don't know what crystals are worth now. I think it
has

something to do with how desirable they are. I paid almost $30 for 160
meter and about $17 each for the two additional 10 meter bands. I have an
80 meter crystal that quit working; When I decide to replace it, it's
gonna

cost clost to $50. Other short wave bands, I would think aren't quite so
valuable. Maybe it's just I who thinks that was because I'm not too
interested in listening to short wave.

I don't know the type numbers, but these do fit into the extra crystal
sockets on the back of the Drake receivers. I think today I'll plug them
into my R-4A to be sure they work and just what band the one with the
strange number covers.

I'd sure like to get rid of all three of them, so how about a package
deal?

I'll send you the three for $11--just because today is 11/11. Wait 'til I
try them before you decide--unles you already have decided in the
negative.

Kevin,
I have three crystals that came in some kind of a package deal quite a
while

ago. I don't even remember what the deal was, but what bands are you
looking for? My three are 22.7 and 26.6 which, if my calculations are
correct, would give you 11.6 mhz band and 15.5 mhz band. The third
crystal
has a 5 (or more) digit number on it that just doesn't make any sense. I
have never plugged them in to see if they work; so, they would be "as
is".

Are these something you can use?

OK. Having looked at Ron's manual, it's not.
The mixing scheme is the same as that used by Standard during the 1970s for
some of their portable and mobile radios.

No schematic that I saw, but there's a bit of information here:

Looks like the MN-75 may be a little lighter weight in terms of power
handling capability -- by just a little, not enough to matter.

[Drakelist] Looking for a T-4 Any

2009-01-06 Thread David & Chris Drake
Hi
Thanks to all who responded to date. To be more specific, I'd prefer a B model
if possible, but won't overlook a T-4x or even a "reciter", but the reciters
are pretty scarce, and likely in poor shape. Then there's the filter issue to
contend with...4 versus 8 poles. I'd even consider a C if the price was right.
A "B or C" would fit the best for everyday use.

I've really grown to like this A receiver. I was going to simply fix it up and
pass it along, but then thought I'd put a set together and use it. You guys
and gals know how that goes!!?? Yep, have to build another shelf to add more
Drakes. I seem to have a hard time parting with them !!

I'm in no particular hurry. I'm sure a transmitter will come along.

2008-01-03 Thread ALAN PHILLIPS
Hi Guy: This is Alan kc9ys commenting for Tony Millls since he doesn't have the
reflector. I just got off the phone with Tony, and he says that you ordered the
panels yesterday, via e-mail, and that the panels got shipped today. The
e-mail you used is fine. it works fine. Please check your bulk folder before
you think that someone does not want to reply to you!
Everyone on this reflector knows that Tony has a great panel or product and can
always be reached. 73's alan kc9ys...

Anybody have a better email address for Tony Mills, KF8MW? The address
given on his website for Drake panels ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) doesn't work and
bounces the email back. I recently made a purchase, but I haven't heard
anything from him

[drakelist] Looking for a HA 1 Keyer

2007-03-22 Thread Robert Look
I know - this is a Drake list post, but Im looking for a Hallicrafters HA 1
keyer for my Drake 4B/C/2NT. I've only just now started using a paddle and I've
rediscovered the joy of CW. I've always used a straight key - took my novice
test ('71) and general ('72) with a straight key. I guess you can teach an old

[drakelist] Looking for Drake B line Vox information

Some where in my internet surfing in the last month or so I saw a
section of a web page that had an expanded skematic informaiton with
explanations of what was going on, working voltages etc. Does that ring
a bell with any body. I should have written down the URL, but did not.
I'd like to get my B line back on line, but have some lingering problems
with the Vox circuit.

BTW,

Merry Christmas.
