[Drakelist] Looking for info on Wavetek 3001/ SG-1170/U
GM All: Does anyone have or can point me to a source for a later version of the 3001/3002 manual? I have the one commonly found online dated 9/83 on front cover but the compliment of modules, in some cases, is different (later). Specifically, at this point, I am looking for a schematic of the Wide Lock Osc. W34-1. The one in the manual is a W34. The chip collection is different and mine has two adjustment pots on top also. Also, any general info on how these got to be 1170/U. Mine is marked as a 3001 but with the added freq tag and Army ID tag so it has the RF protection Breaker and the Downconverter for KHz selection. Fought several typical problems and had it working but now I think the wide lock has gone south. It is outputing the unlock level to the mod board but there is no unlock light on the module. Even if I disconnect everything from the top, the unlock light part is not gointg. I've been through every module reseating and de-oxiding contacts...what a PITA! Hey it was cheap! I think it has something to do with how desirable they are. I paid almost $30 for 160 meter and about $17 each for the two additional 10 meter bands. I have an 80 meter crystal that quit working; When I decide to replace it, it's gonna cost clost to $50. Other short wave bands, I would think aren't quite so valuable. Maybe it's just I who thinks that was because I'm not too interested in listening to short wave. I don't know the type numbers, but these do fit into the extra crystal sockets on the back of the Drake receivers. I think today I'll plug them into my R-4A to be sure they work and just what band the one with the strange number covers. I'd sure like to get rid of all three of them, so how about a package deal? Hi Thanks to all who responded to date. To be more specific, I'd prefer a B model if possible, but won't overlook a T-4x or even a "reciter", but the reciters are pretty scarce, and likely in poor shape. Then there's the filter issue to contend with...4 versus 8 poles. I'd even consider a C if the price was right. A "B or C" would fit the best for everyday use. I've really grown to like this A receiver. I was going to simply fix it up and pass it along, but then thought I'd put a set together and use it. You guys and gals know how that goes!!??
