Thanks to those who replied. It turns out that the VOX circuit is weak on ALL these transceivers. The TR7 has the same problem. I found modification posts on the www. for that vox circuit. (Although, the published mod is NOT the way I would do it.) I ran PSPICE simulations on the VOX
