Running the Torque Engine example application

system up. X is completely hung and it can't be killed. Remote logins
to the machine are possible but the display is frozen until reboot.

btw, you might need to change some files from mesa, too.
It was necessary to patch
in radeon_context.h RADEON_OLD_PACKETS is defined to 1
It was defined to 0 during the tcl-0-0-branch work/merge,
but was reverted back to 1 about 3 weeks later due to problems.

On r200 it works without crashes, but there are visible display errors. On
Matrox it locks too.

I'm not sure it's your work. I saw the bug in Xfree86 CVS from a
couple weeks ago, so unless the trees were synced recently, it might be
something else.

I'm looking at the ARGB code in the new driver. But
when the card powers on it seems to be in mono curosor
mode, how do you switch it to ARGB mode? I haven't
been able to locate where the new driver changes the
mode.
