Hi all. I'm just reporting the below message, as instructed:

The r300 driver works very well with XGL. I have an X700 mobility, and
XGL works *beautifully*. Just recently, I've started to get good results

Hey. WOW!
That makes ut2004 playable on my system :)
Don't suppose you've got any more of these tips? :)

Hi all.
I've been using the fglrx driver with my Radeon X700 mobility since I
got it, and now I'd like to try to move to the r300 driver. I'm not
getting DRI enabled for some reason that's beyond me ...

I'm putting together a PC for my brother, and my old Radeon 7200 isn't
being accelerated any more.
The X log simply says 'Direct Rendering Disabled', without saying why.

Just wondering if there has been any progress on the R300 driver.
I recall Vladimir was having a go at it some time ago.
I'm setting up a PC for my brother, and I'll pretty close to giving him
my R350 and putting my R100 back in mine so I can play UT2004 without
lockups and texture corruption etc
Hi all.
Yes I know there is currently nothing that works.
When that changes, I will gladly test whatever anyone has.
I bought myself a Radeon 9600 SE, thinking it had an R270 chip, but it
in fact has an R350 chip. And yes I know I should have checked. It was
dirt cheap.

Hi all.
Just downloaded the UT2004 demo, and tried it out under XFree86-4.3.99.902.
I'm pleasantly surprised.
It runs quite nicely, and I can't spot any rendering bugs ( though I
wasn't looking closely - I was more interested in shooting at things ).
Anyway, congrats to all those responsible for

Hi all.
Just tried compiling the latest cvs code (to try out fixes which may

Maybe. But it _used_ to work fine under xfree86 4.1.0 & 4.2.0.
Has anyone

Hi all.
I just set up a 2nd PC and ssh'd into mine and ran Tribes 2.
My original post said that the lockups occur within 5 seconds of 3D
rendering starting. That's not quite correct.
The lockups occur only after I move the mouse (which moves the 3D scene
around). But anyway ...

Hi all.
I've been testing the latest TCL drivers recently merged into the main
cvs trunk thing (sorry I don't quite understand cvs) with various 3D
apps, and I'm getting lockups with Tribes 2, after about 5 seconds of 3D
rendering (not enough to actually play anything). The lockups seem to be
