when you tested my radeon-rewrite was it on an r100 or r200?
Can you check with a clean master checkout whether page flipping works
for you at all?
RADEON_DEBUG=ioctl ./progs/trivial/clear
for me seems to use a copy buffer but it might be a local issue.

please can you re-test radeon-rewrite as well, I've pushed a rewrite of
the fb handling towards eventually getting fbos going.
