Regarding multiple schemata I found an answer: It is not documented in
the docs. But in ItemImport.java I found the way to use multiple schemata:
1.) Besides the dublin_core.xml every schema needs an own XML-file with
the same syntax, named 'metadata_namespace-shortcut.xml'; e.g.
Jeffrey,
Page 52 is correct. Page 64 is a copy of the old comments from dspace.cfg.
The comments and example in dspace.cfg are also correct, and should have
guided you away from the erroneous information in p64 of the manual ;)
Your configuration should be:

Gary,
The browse indexes are generated in tables within the database.
All the 'metadata' indexes (see dspace.cfg) generate bi_1, bi_2, etc.

For the non-metadata indexes, they are just references to the bi_item

Hello,
We're in the process of purchasing a new server and storage space for
our DSpace repository (moving to 1.5). Our systems administrator has
proposed the following setup. I'm hoping that some DSpace admins out
there may be able to comment on this proposed purchase and let us
know

I tried to import metadata containing more then 1 file and using more
then 1 metatdata schema. As far as I see in the code of ItemImport.java

the import:
$ ./import -a -e [EMAIL PROTECTED] -c 123456789/4 -s

I have two remaining issues for this conversion and I'm up and running:
1. Browse the whole IR and Collection main page is blank. See # 1
and 2 below.
1.

Hi Olive,
We just upgraded DSpace from 1.4 to 1.5. When I ran re-indexing script, I
found there was no index-all under [dspace]/bin. I would like to verify does
DSpace 1.5 still support index-all? Thanks.
There is now [dspace]/bin/index-init and [dspace]/bin/index-update instead.
