Dear All,
I have installled DSpace 1.4, 1.5 successfully. Now I want to change
its desgin and some fields of second step of describing any item. I
want to add some fields. In dspace 1.5 I am confused that jspui files
are multiple locations and I do not know to which I should edit.

On our instance I have been trying to rearrange the order of the
navigation sidebar. I've been able to locate the Navigation.java in the

the 1.5.2 release is close, the central event is the Testhaton day:
March 25, 2009.
All the work should really be done before the testhaton day, only
marginal bugs or bugs discovered during the testhaton itself should be
fixed after this event.

Hi MArk and other fellows, i had set all the permissions and the issue
persists.I changed the JVM to the sun JVM, i will try to reinstall tomcat 6
instead of 5.5

I'm happy to announce that Andrea Bollini has taken on the role of
Release Coordinator for DSpace 1.5.2.
He has recently updated the status page at

Is there a preferred method for handling diacritics in authors name within
Dspace? I have a number of records that return no results when searching for an
author's name. For example when I search for the author's name (Tolentino Peña,
Radhamés A.) this is the result:

In a desparate attempt to get dspace working with mySQL (and later on,
sybase) I am considering moving to dspace2. But I cannot find the
build/install instructions. I tried mvn package and that seems to build it
but I cannot any build.xml files so I cannot say "and fresh_install". Can
anone help me
